I've been trying to get the government to address us for months - and to be allowed to discuss the issue regarding medicinal cannabis prohibition. Today, I managed to speak to a HUMAN BEING in Downing St, rather than a robotic clone. Do you want to know how to do it? Do you have something to say to Gordon Browns office? Then read on... I'll show you how. Gordon said that he will listen to the public.... lets us see if this is the case.
Firstly, sorry I've been absent from the site over the past few weeks. Due to a med shortage, I had a relapse - and am now forced back onto NHS meds. It took a while to get used to them... Im starting to think clearer now, I feel less 'drunk' - but the meds do nothing for the spasticity or weakness... or the bladder. Sarah shared some of her medicine with me, and sadly it is gritted - although it seems cleaner than a lot of what I have seen locally. It does happen to be very good cannabis - and its such a shame that such good cannabis has been contaminated. Anway, Im able to type again, and have been working hard today helping Sarah with advertising the GNR, and also hassling the government. FAX NUMBERS:Gordon Browns Office: 020 792 50918
Alan Johnson (Health Secretary): 020 721 95856I sent them this fax this morning: Dear Mr Brown I am writing with regards to your total blank-walling of me, and the issue that I am wishing to discuss with you – namely that of medicinal cannabis prohibition.
At the end of the day, the facts speak for themselves. Medical science has proven the beneficial effects of cannabis, and scientific data prove that it is an incredibly low risk medicine. Medical experts agree that cannabis is far more effective than chemical pharmaceuticals, and medicinal users experience first hand the healing qualities of cannabis. So why are we seeing medicinal users’ being persecuted through the courts for the sole crime of wanting to be well? Why are legitimate growers of quality cannabis being raided and closed down, only to open the way for foreign mafia gangs to flood the UK with dangerously contaminated cannabis? Ask the police – the country is full of this ‘gritweed’ – in fact, it is all that is available at the moment. Why are medicinal users denied a source for this much needed medication, and forced to take expensive chemical poisons at the expense of the tax payer? For some people, cannabis is the only drug that actually works effectively for their conditions. Medicinal cannabis prohibition is going to explode in your governments’ face very shortly if you do not immediately open up a dialogue with myself and other medicinal activists. From our own studies, when the general public are informed of the true facts about medicinal cannabis prohibition, 96% of them believe that it should be made available on the NHS, and are horrified with the suffering and persecution we have to endure.
There is talk of a general election coming up soon. Our 96% support is enough of a leverage for your government to win or lose an election . If your government continue to ignore our issue, then we will inform and educate the public ourselves in the run-up to the election. We plan to do this en-masse, and in ways that will receive the attention of the national and foreign media. We will give the honest true facts about what we have had to endure and are enduring, and to put it simply, will get 96% of the nations’ support. Please take the time to read this letter, and to seriously consider picking up the telephone, or getting one of your aids to call me, and to arrange a face-to-face meeting with you as soon as possible. I look forward to a speedy response. Yours, Stuart Wyatt – Humanitarian Medicinal Distribution – http://humedi.org.uk I wanted to make sure that a human being received the faxes, so I phoned the Whitehall switchboard, and asked for confirmation. The telephone number is: Whitehall Switchboard: 0207 276 3000I phoned them up, and spoke to an operator. Unless you know the name of the person who you wish to speak to, they will not transfer you, or take a message (Note: Gordon Brown is not accepted) They cannot suggest names for you, or offer you any advice or assistance.... "This is not a public office".... Seriously! Thats what was said to me today! I hung up, googled for a few seconds, and came up with the name of Gordon Browns' official spokesperson, who is.... Michael EllamI phoned the Whitehall switchboard, and spoke to the same operator.... "Michael Ellam please".... "*sigh*.....[pause].... one moment please"..... [silence]......[beep]......[ring]......[female voice]..."Transferring to Michael Ellam"...[ring]....[male voice].... "Hello?" This is the first human being I have ever spoken to. It wasnt Michael Ellam - he was out, but a very nice person called Matt Francis, who I believe is someone who administers the office (if thats an understatement of your real job, then I apologise Matt!). He was the first person who listened to me. I told him the full facts... what it was like for us, and he listened! He promised to make sure that the fax was read by the people in Downing street. Thank you Matt! Gordon has been ignoring me, as he has been ignoring every activist who has tried to contact him. Blair did exactly the same. This is the first time that I now know that someone working in the same building as Gordon, and who is his official spokeperson, will know about our request for a dialogue about the mess of medicinal cannabis prohibition. Gordon said that he will listen to the public. There are about 16 million old people and sick people who would directly benefit from cannabis or cannabis based medicines were it to me made available. Shouldn't we have a say? Well Gordon, you cannot deny that you have not received the request now. Were waiting.... I urge everyone to contact Downing Street, and be honest, courteus and to the point. Please do not be abusive, as it will do nobody any favours. Tell them what it is like to suffer under prohibition.... Ive been working hard today, and cannot guarantee that I wont be kocked out due to it (its hard to pace yourself when feeling well). I hope to be back on the forums shortly, and the administration too. Finally - I would like to welcome Pat Tabram to Humedi (she will be writing an article this weekend), and BEST OF LUCK SARAH!!!! You are an angel! :) |
