It really is :) ...
I had a telephone call from a reporter today, to ask me for an update on the possible London demonstration. I had to explain to her that many of the Humedi members were having problems finding medication, and their health had deteriorated as a result. Therefore, no London plans have been confirmed. Im still trying to open a dialogue with the government, and have not exhausted all avenues yet. I myself have been offline for about 3 weeks, maybe more. My local sources for clean medication totally dried up, and I was ending up smoking soap bar just for some relief (and believe me, it was cleaner than the majority of the gritweed floating around). The soap bar was couriered to me by Sarah during the postal strikes, but it did not really help the illness much - it just allowed me to finally sleep, which in itself was a huge blessing. When I stood up in January, I never thought that 9 months later, I would be eternally greatful for a bit of soapbar. It also shocks me that soapbar was the only 'medication' that Sarah was able to obtain after all her efforts with the GNR and cannabis activism. Further help was then offered by a humedi member who sent myself and Sarah a few grammes of nice clean herbal cannabis... The healing effects of cannabis never cease to surprise me. Trying to explain what it is like to a well person is like trying to explain to a blind man what it is like to see. Words cannot describe it... Then 10 days ago, I won my final DLA appeal, and am finally on higher rate mobility allowance. The small backpayment came in handy, as there was some local organic 5x skunk available locally. I ended up managing to afford to purchase 1.5oz. I kept about 6g to myself, and mailed the rest out to humedi members who requested it (free of charge, via next day delivery). The smallest amounts sent were 3g per person. Its not much, but for some people, that could last them 2 weeks +. It makes me smile that the government indirectly paid for this med run :) More will hopefully be available soon :) |
